Review of the IPOD Touch 2nd Generation.
I've had a IPOD now for four years. I got the IPOD Nano when it first came out, and yes, I did feel some what cooler for having it. The thing has lasted me four years, with little or no issues. I was perfectly content with my little ipod nano, it fulfilled all my needs, it played the music I loved, and was slim and easy to carry around. That all changed though when the IPOD Touch was released. I found it amazing that I could have this slim little device, that played the music that I loved, but also updated me on my e-mail's, let me browse ebay for auctions, and play stupid silly games developed by tech junkies with too much time on their hands.
However, the 200+ price tag on the IPOD Touch made it a difficult thing for a college student on a limited budget like me to purchase. Thanks to ebay though, I was able to win one for free in their 12 days of Christmas promotion.
I waited days for it to come, and finally it did. I ripped it open, and say there for a good hour, just pressing icons and other things to see what happened. I quickly set up my gmail accounts (which was honestly one of the easiest things I've ever done on a hand held device), downloaded table hockey, went onto Safari and looked up craigslist postings, and downloaded 3.7 GB of music onto the 8GB device.
Since that day, I've used the IPOD Touch non stop. I've downloaded movies onto to enjoy while I'm in class, I've placed my best french music onto to enjoy while driving, I've youtubed about a million video's while lying in bed waiting for sleep to take me over. Yet still, the IPOD touch fascinates me. There are about a million different apps to download (a lot of them for free) which use every possible inch of this device for my enjoyment.
Some of the best apps for me are:
Craig You - build in craigslist Lister, which gives me all the listings from my IPOD touch. A good thing for me.
Facebook - allows you to enjoy all the aspects of Facebook right on your IPOD Touch. A must have for someone like me who is on the damn site for hours.
Lose It - A virtual weight loss calculator that tells me the amount of calories I can consume in one day, a diary to input what foods I've eaten that day, and a burner diary to record my exercise. A must have for anyone who gets tired of using the old pen to paper method.
I've had no problems with the IPOD Touch, and hopefully none will come. I recommend that everyone purchase one, if they are an internet junky such as myself.
Bonne anuit!
-Sean
