Full Body Scan

I'm always one for security. And the sad fact is that in todays world, it is needed. Yet I find this a little crazy.

Due to the increased threats of terrorism, the United States government has decided to place full body scans in popular airports that have a lot of major international flights.

That's right, full body scans. The attendant at the machine will get a good view of everything.

I am a bit worried about any health risk that may come along with this. You need a fairly strong xray emitter to see beneath most peoples clothes. If your a frequent traveler then your exposure to xrays goes way above the normal levels most people get in their daily lives.

How do you feel about the full body scan?

i actually went through a body scan last year. i forget which airport it was, but they said it was still in the testing phase. the radiation was no more than what youd get standing in front of a microwave. granted people who travel more frequently should be more concerned about the constant exposure.

I feel like I'll be scratching the US off my travel spot list. It always feels like Homeland Security would rather not have me visit the States in the first place.

Though, to be fair, it probably won't be long until they get them at Heathrow and Frankfurt, so I'll have to deal with him to go to the EU too.
