Dear Mom,

Dear Mom,
You're the friend I wanted, and the parent I needed. Always willing to give advice (except when you're doing the bills). You've showed me what strength is. You've proven that age is just a number, and that life is about happiness and all the other stuff can be thrown off as "shit happens". Even though you can become tan, and I remain pale all year, I thank you for giving me your smile. You've given me a chance to be independent, yet allowed me to call you almost every other day just so I can have someone to talk to as I take my breaks from life out on the porch. You've taught me to be tough, yet relatable. I love when you tell stories from your childhood, and show me that that everything I may be going through isn't as horrid and all-ending as I may make it out to be. And even though you may be a thousand miles away, everytime I pass by a John and Mary's, the Maryvale parking lot (where you did a Doughnut once, just for the hell of it), and the home we lived in when I was a child I think of you and all the memories I've built with you over the years, and of all the memories to come.

Thank you Mom.

Love Always
-Sean
